The crew will place tarps against the foundation and over garden beds before tear-off begins to catch most falling debris. Delicate plantings directly below the drip line benefit from being covered or moved if practical. Alert the crew lead to anything particularly significant before work starts. Most professional contractors wet down landscaping before and after the magnetic nail sweep to ensure granules and small debris are rinsed off plant surfaces.

Pets and Children

Roof replacement is loud, particularly during tear-off. Dogs with noise sensitivity or young children who nap in the morning will have a difficult day if they are in the house. Plan for pets and children to be somewhere else during the noisiest phase, which runs from crew arrival through roughly midday. Pets should not be in the yard during work or cleanup. Communication Before the Day
